Contact the Office of Research Compliance
The Office of Research Compliance was established as a resource for investigators and the university as a whole to achieve and maintain ethical principles and compliance with federal, state, and university regulations governing research.
ASU researchers are required to complete training on associated compliance topics (depending on their research endeavors or responsibilities) before they can start their research. Requirements may include Conflicts of Interest (COI), Institutional Review Board (IRB), Responsible Conduct of Research (RCR), Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC), Institutional Biosafety Committee (IBC), Research Security / Export Controls, or Environmental Health and Safety (EHS).

Grants, research, and sponsored projects
Grants, research, and sponsored projects (GRASP) served as ASU’s annual research-focused conference from 2019 to 2023 and focused on connecting novice and tenured researchers to services, resources, and best practices in the research space.
This online library of GRASP sessions provides introductions to services and best practices from expert support staff. Topics include, but are not limited to, proposal development, data management, evaluation planning, research computing, and entrepreneurial endeavors. Most topics apply to all fields.
Current and Pending (Other) Support
Join Sponsored Projects Operations (ORSPA) and Research Compliance for a recorded faculty-focused seminar on Current & Pending Support (CPS).
This session covers:
- An overview of Current & Pending Support requirements
- An overview of SciENcv
- Best practices for disclosures and avoiding common errors
This seminar is ideal for faculty preparing proposals to federal sponsors and will provide practical tools and resources to help with this process.
CITI Training
ASU collaborates with the Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative (CITI Program) to provide a library of current topics important to researchers at any level.
CITI Program offers a variety of recorded optional webinars, available to elevate your knowledge and skillset in the research space. New webinars are added quarterly.

ERA Proposal Intake Form Training
A new ERA proposal intake launches in January 2026. This new process replaces previous forms used by teams such as Biodesign, Mary Lou Fulton, and SESE. If you are a part of these teams/colleges, you may need to learn about the process of creating a proposal intake form in ERA.
